Trust & trustee matters

The Trust now has Gift Aid status

Committee reports

a. Museum Creation
Pocklington Town Council (PTC) had approved the business plan for Burnby Hall and it had been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council . The Plan had been published on PTC’s website.
The public survey regarding the future of the building had had a good response representing 26% of households or 10% of the population of the town. Over 96% of those responding were in favour of the Hall being brought into community use.

b. Collection Management and Research
A Collections Policy had been drafted. The committee were working on expanding the collection and it was important that donated items were consistent with the Trust’s priorities.

c. Finance and Fund-raising
An expression of interest had been submitted to the Arts Council via Museums
Development Yorkshire for a grant towards work with schools and care homes.
The fund- raising brochure was almost ready for printing.
There was now a donation link on the website.
It was agreed to apply to the Shared Prosperity Fund for a grant to enable the Trust to build on its existing out-reach work. If successful the funding would pay for professionally designed interpretive material, stands and cabinets and replicas of important artefacts.

d. Education, Events and Public Engagement
The future programme of events was dependent on grant applications, so nothing specific was confirmed at this stage.

e. Facility and Volunteer Administration, Governance and Audit
Policies for Health and Safety, Data Protection, Equalities and Diversity and Safeguarding were adopted.

f. Marketing and Communications
A new volunteer had been recruited who could help with design of publicity materials.
