Pocklington District Heritage Trust received an unexpected boost to its plans to create a district museum within Burnby Hall, when Pocklington Horticultural Society handed over a cheque for £500.
Presenting the cheque at the heritage trust’s recent ‘Revealing the Shield(s)’ event in the Burnby Hall community hall, horticultural society chairman, John Barber, said: “We wish you well with setting up this much needed museum for the people of Pocklington and visitors to the town to enjoy in the future.”
Horticultural society volunteers run a shop every Saturday and Sunday morning at the Pocklington allotments site on The Mile. It stocks horticultural products at sensible prices for the benefit of the allotments holders and Pocklington residents.
For more details on its range of products and opening times consult the shop section on the Pocklington Allotment Association website: https://pocklingtonallotments.com/pocklington…
