Committee reports
Finance and Fund-raising
The Treasurer circulated copies of the end of year accounts. It had been a successful year and there was a balance of £13,500 at the end of the year. The Two Ridings grant had helped to pay for some of the basic expenditure and there had been a surplus from the Go Fund Me appeal for the panel.
The accounts were approved to go for independent examination.
Thanks were given to the Treasurer for his work.
Museum Fund Raising Strategy
Following consultation with a Heritage Lottery expert a report had been prepared comparing the pros and cons of
the options of a solo bid from PDHT and a joint application with Pocklington Town Council (PTC) and the Community Trust (PCT).
Although the solo application would be simpler and possibly faster there were substantial advantages, to both the museum and the wider community, with a bigger, joint application.
A joint application was recommended.
A partnership agreement would need to be drawn up with PTC as the lead partner for the funding project. PTC would not be running the project but would be a position to provide bridging finance if necessary.
After discussion of both options, it was agreed to pursue a joint Lottery bid.
The next step would be for PCT and PDHT to draft an initial project proposal and to present it to PTC with a request for PTC to act as the lead organisation.
Museum Creation
It was reported that there was some progress with the lease.
PCT were prioritising Burnby Hall roof repairs, provision of a lift, fire doors, wiring and toilets. Once the building was safe and accessible some parts could be opened up for use.
Education, Events and Public Engagement
School visits had been done at Bugthorpe and Sutton on Derwent.
Two ghost walks were planned for Halloween.
The Heritage Festival tickets and programme were now available on Eventbrite.
Facility and Volunteer Administration, Governance and Audit
Volunteer recruitment was to begin at the Heritage Festival.
